Eco Island The Caye is a "hand made" eco-island developed without the use of any heavy machinery. Solar and wind power are used to provide clean, quiet power, in addition to traditional off-grid generating methods.

Accommodations
Guests can stay in one of 11 elegant Casitas, Cabanas and Family Villa, each with spacious baths and magnificent ocean views.
Wildlife
Visitors to Thatch Caye Resort will enjoy interacting with rabbits, coatimundi, Belizean raccoons, gibnuts, exotic birds, and sea iguanas. The island is located near a world renowned bird sanctuary where hundreds of frigates, boobies and pelicans make their home.

Thatch Central
Thatch central is the heart of the caye where the reception, entertainment, dining and hanging out takes place. Interconnected palapas, walkways, bars, kitchen and bathroom are centrally positioned in a shady village setting under coconut palms and Australian pines.

Dining & Bars Dine under a cathedral thatched roof with windows on the sea and cool tile under your feet. Additional dining in screened comfort is also offered in a cozy fresh air palapa next to our outdoor Wave Bar.

We have 2 bars on Thatch Caye. The indoor bar is built of rich native hardwoods inside our main gathering palapa. It’s located next to our gaming and entertainment areas. The outdoor Wave Bar is a masterwork of fine carpentry from local tropical hardwoods. Ceiling fans under a thatch roof keep this exterior bar ventilated and ice cold drinks are served to keep you cool. This bar is attached to an additional screened palapa if more shelter from the elements is needed.

The Marina & The Boardwalk The entrance to Thatch Caye is a protected waterway with thatch roofed boat houses, walkways and bridges.
An aquarium graces the marina with an over water palapa to savor Belizean sunsets or gaze at the water dance below.

Our east facing boardwalk runs along the edge of Thatch Caye for nearly a thousand feet.
A tee-shaped dock with hammocks under shade connects the boardwalk to a launching dock where your sea adventures begin.
Moorings
Sailboats and cruisers are welcome to visit Thatch Caye Resort for a meal at Thatch Central, ice, fresh water, provisions and dives! Thatch Caye's GPS coordinates are 16 degrees 53.105' North and 88 degrees 07.172'. Thatch caye offers five moorings on the west side of our caye and 3 additional moorings on our east side.
