Thatch Caye was great— the location, staff, food service, layout of the island and availability of kayaks and paddleboards were all amazing. The diving was the best I’ve ever seen in the Caribbean. Alberto, the chef was excellent and versatile. The food was fresh and delicious. The island itself was well kept and beautiful.
My wife & I recently return from 6 days @ Thatch Caye . We had a fantastic time from relaxing to swimming in the beautiful Caribbean Waters to Zip Lining ( where my wife challenged her fear or heights ). Chris & the staff are fantastic not to mention the local Beer . We loved every minute we where there & will be return with our children .
Just returned from a week on Thatch Caye. This was my second time there, and it was amazing! The staff is incredible, the food scrumptious, the views outstanding, waking up over the water everyday was so beautiful everyday.
We were lucky to have the whole island to ourselves on our five night stay in January, and what an island it is! Crystal clear water surrounded the island, and we loved our stay the beautiful and comfortable water-bungalows. Truly peace and quiet and still we could do activities such as fishing, island hopping and snorkeling if we wanted. The staff took really good care of us, nothing was too much trouble and we felt truly welcome and blessed during our whole time there. We visited a few other islands in Tobacco Caye region, however, felt very fortunate that we chose to stay at Thatch Caye and would definitely stay here again if we come back to Belize, Diving at the reef was amazing, and Alberto the chef made the most tasteful delicious food. Last, but not least, Chris the manager does a wonderful job looking after the guests. We wish we could have stayed for weeks! Thank you for an unforgettable, personal, and relaxing experience!
I recently just returned from 7 days on the divine & luxurious island of Thatch Caye and truly had the trip of a lifetime. From the moment we arrived I knew it would be like nothing I’d ever experienced. The views off the island are breathtaking, and the sunrises & sunsets over the water are like nothing else. I stayed in a cabana over the water & I had to pinch myself it wasn’t all a dream. Waking up to the sunrise, relaxing in my hammock, hearing the ocean lap against the stilts - it was an experience I’ll always remember. From snorkelling, to swimming in the ocean, walking the island, doing yoga in the palapa & eating all the delicious fresh food the gorgeous staff cook, it truly was one of the best travel experiences I’ve ever had. If you love adventure, food, swimming, sunsets/sunrises, awe inspiring travel experiences - you HAVE to choose Thatch Caye as your next destination. It’s tropical Island meets heaven on earth.
