The sun was shinning and I thought I’d take a walk down to the southern end of Thatch Caye Resort. The water and sky were picture perfect, so I grabbed my camera. As I approached the Southern Palapa, I stumbled upon this graceful fellow feeding in the sea grass.
When I got to the end of the dock I realized that this ray was about 2-3 feet across, and was not startled as I walked closer.
These marine creatures can be found often swimming by our five cabana’s that are built over the tranquil Caribbean waters.
These creatures are very safe to swim with but will generally swim away if you get too close. More from the Caye Catcher blog later this week.
